Human Ribs Anatomy Complete Description

RIBS ANATOMY;

Human ribs cage is made up of 12 pairs of rib bones means overall 24 numbers of rib bones in human body.

Rib cage is the arrangement of ribs attached to vertebral column posteriorly and sternum anteriorly.

Due to the presence of mammary gland in female there is the question i.e., How many number of bones in female body? The answer of this question is same as for male because there is 12 pairs rib bones in both male and female.

 The rib bones are divided into three groups;

1)TRUE RIBS;

*Seven pairs of rib bones which are attached to sternum by their coastal cartilage is called true ribs.

*From 1 to 7 are true ribs of rib cage.

2) FALSE RIBS;

The 8th, 9th and 10th pairs of ribs which are attached to each other and then attach to the 7th rib by means of their coastal cartilages.

3)FLOATING RIBS;

The 11th and 12th pairs of ribs which do not have any attachment anteriorly.
